Wrinkle treatments for women may help prolong the signs of aging. The different types of wrinkle treatments will make it easier for women to handle the worries of aging and help them feel good about themselves by trying to help them look good instead of looking old. Here are some of the treatments that women may make use of to erase the wrinkled signs of aging.

Topical Treatments:

There are many different ways that women can have their wrinkles treated. There are several topical solutions that can be used by directly applying to the skin. Different topical creams and lotions may not only help erase some of the wrinkles that come with age but they can actually help delay wrinkle formation by keeping the skin healthier.

Ordinary moisturizers. Moisturizers can be used to make the wrinkles look less prominent. Although they can only help hide the appearance of wrinkles, moisturizers do not actually treat wrinkles as to make them disappear. Moisturizers only serve to lessen or reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Anti-oxidants. For a more effective topical treatment of wrinkles, creams with anti-oxidants may be used. Anti-oxidants are nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E that help keep the skin healthier by trying to protect it from the harmful effects of free radicals which can do considerable damage to the skin. Anti-oxidant creams can also provide the skin with a certain amount of protection from the sun which can also contribute to the formation of wrinkles.

Alpha-hydroxyl Acids. Also known as fruit acids, Alpha-hydroxyl acids is the term for a number of carboxylic acids that help to reduce wrinkles and delay the signs of aging on skin. AHA’s such as glycolic and lactic acid are used to provide a subtle improvement to the skin and is relatively safe to use but is also known to cause some mild irritation albeit a temporary one.

Cosmetic Treatments:

There are other wrinkles that may have already developed in some women that topical treatments alone may not be able to solve. There are now a number of cosmetic treatments that women may try out to help them get rid of such wrinkles.

Deeper Peels. Peels are used by cosmetic doctors to help get rid of the skins outer layer in the effort of taking out the wrinkles with them. Deeper peels usually make use of salicylic and trichloroacetic acid to penetrate deeper into the skin and provide better results in smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. But such procedures may also have side effects such as permanent scarring as well as pigment discoloration on the skin.

Dermabrasion. This is a surgical procedure that usually requires the patient to be under general anesthesia. In this treatment method, a rotating instrument is used to sand off the skin to get rid of the wrinkles. Depending on the skill of the treating physician, dermabrasion can provide excellent results and improvement to the skin. But there is also a risk that this procedure can produce significant side effects such as scarring and permanent skin discoloration.

Laser Resurfacing. This procedure makes use of special lasers to get rid of wrinkles. A special carbon dioxide or erbium laser is pass over the treated area several times to peel of the dermis up to the second layer. This process helps stimulate the body to produce natural collagen which helps tightens sagging skin as well as wrinkles.
