How to Avoid Bad Breath

Halitosis is the scientific name for having a bad breath. It would be really awful when you are talking to someone and they realize that your mouth is discharging a very awful smell. Bad breath can give you a lot of complications or rather inconvenience. You often have to distant yourself with other people as they might say something bad about you or probably suffer from mockery because you smell.

The most common cause of this problem is the food that we eat that sticks between our teeth and around our gums and tongues. When the food rots inside our mouth it promotes the growth of bacteria creating a very awful smell. The growth of these mouth bacteria may also lead us from having gingivitis or other gum diseases.

What we eat and drink makes us. Too much food intake may make us look twice as our current size. Too much drink makes us a drunkard or suffers from liver problems. There are in fact foods that may also trigger bad breath and its effect is manifest right after you had a little taste of them such as garlic, cheese, orange juice, soda, onions and pastrami.

There are many and different types of reason why one suffers from such distasteful health problem. People suffering from kidney, liver, diabetes, chronic lung infections and others may also cause one from having halitosis. But of course this type of health issue can be prevented.

How to Prevent Halitosis?

Brush your teeth twice a day and use fluoride toothpaste. Make sure that you are brushing your teeth properly. You must brush your teeth from along the gum line to the surfaces of your teeth. More importantly, never forget to also include brushing the surface of your tongue.

Flossing is the best way to remove the food in between your teeth. Flossing must be done at least once a day.

Consume less meat and start eating more fruits every day.

There are many foods such as onions that promote having a bad breath. It is better to avoid those types of foods.

Alcoholic beverages have a lot of components that triggers halitosis. Having alcoholic beverages does not only give a high risk of having a bad breath but also high risk in many types of diseases. It is best for one to limit or rather hamper consuming these products.

Tobaccos are also one of the common causes of halitosis. Avoiding these types of products will help you from preventing yourself in getting bad breath problems.

Dry mouth may also give your mouth a very unpleasant odor. It is advised to consume sugar free gum, drink more water and suck sugar free mints.

Have your teeth cleaned by your dentist at least once or twice a month.
