Getting enough sleep is an important part of everyday life. Sleep after all helps provide the body with the rest it needs after a day of continuous physical and mental functioning. By knowing how to establish a regular sleeping schedule, knowing what foods and drinks to avoid prior to bedtime can effectively help people fall asleep faster and more effectively.

Relaxation Methods

A number of people find it hard to fall asleep because they sometimes go to bed a bit tense physically. Supposing one only sleeps an average of five hours, the patient then just goes to bed in the exact number of hours that he would need when he or she wakes up.

With the allocated five hours, the patient may not sleep instantly and would experience lesser sleeping hours than he or she is used to. This can build up fatigue that will enable the patient to gradually sleep faster and deeper as the body begins to recognize the shortened sleeping hours. After awhile, the therapists gradually increase bedtime, therefore providing the body longer and more efficient sleep.
