Pain is a signal that may indicate that something is wrong with your body. It is not something that you should always just try to ignore. There are certain types of pain that you should certainly be alarmed of. Here are some of them.
Sharp Pain Between Shoulder Blades
If you feel a sudden pain between your shoulder blades that seem to happen for no reason, you should have a sense of alarm. While it may not be a good thing to panic, but such pain may indicate that you are having an impending heart attack. About 30 percent of heart attacks do not display the classic chest pain symptom. Some people may instead feel some pain between their shoulder blades along with jaw pain, shortness of breath and/or nausea. People usually experience several of these symptoms during a heart attack.
Lingering Menstrual Pain
Some women may experience a menstrual period feeling some pain. There are medications available that can help them deal with them. But when menstrual pain lingers and does not seem to react well with medication, it is something worth having checked out. It may be endometriosis, a condition where tissue begins to form outside of the uterus. This condition can cause pain similar to what women experience during their periods. It can also hinder a woman’s fertility. Persisting pain may usually require surgery to remove the tissue.
Sudden Painful Headache
If you feel a sudden headache that seems to come out of nowhere, it should be a cause of alarm. It may be possible that you have a brain aneurysm, especially if you feel that it is the most painful headache you felt so far. You may need immediate medical attention and have it checked out before it is too late.
Some people may not thing anything serious about that pain they feel in the calf area. Some may think that it is just muscle pain that will go away with rest. But this type of pain can also be caused by a serious condition called deep vein thrombosis or DVT. This condition is caused by a blood clot that forms in the deep veins located in the leg area. It can be life threatening if a piece of the clot breaks off and travel to the lungs and cause pulmonary embolism. There are times when the condition only causes swelling without any pain. If you experience either of the two in the calf area, have your doctor check it out.
